GAT Releases

11th August 2004: GAT v1.0.0 released!

The GAT Version 1.0 has finally been released! It can be downloaded by following the link GAT Version 1.0

Supported platforms are:

  • Windows-9x or newer
  • Windows-NT4 or newer
  • Linux with gcc-3.x or newer
    gcc-2.x _should_ be fine, but is purely tested)
  • MacOS-X
  • IRIX64 6.5 or newer

All Unix like OS's SHOULD be fine, but are untested. Some glitches are known on Solaris, which will be fixed with the next minor version update.

The release contains the full set of local adaptors, a test suite, and a large number of example GAT applications.

20th July 2004: GAT v0.99.2 releases!

The GATEngine version 0.99.2 has been released in time for the GAT-workshop in Edinburgh.



19th July 2004 is the GAT v1.0.0 beta release date!
To encourage all those involved with application development to utilize GAT, version 1.0.0 beta of GAT will be released on the 19th of July 2004 to coincide with the Edinburgh Application Developer's Workshop which will kick off on that very same day!


19th July 2004 is the GAT User's Guide release date!
This guide is a comprehensive document which covers all aspects of programming to the GAT API. In addition, this user's guide contains many complete programs which illustrate the use of various GAT API calls, and instead of illustrating these calls with trivial, throw-away code, this user's guide illustrates these calls with useful, fully working, commandline utilities -- a "grid shell" if you will -- all of whcih will be of considerable use long after one has read the entirity of the user's guide.


19th July 2004 is the GAT Adaptor Writer's Guide release date!
This guide is the authoritative guide to writing GAT adaptors. It takes an adaptor programmer, who possesses only a user's knowledge of GAT through all the details of a complete working adaptor, covering all such details in enough detail so as to allow the aspiring adaptor writer to applied all the lessons learned to adapting their own grid middle ware to GAT.


1st July 2004 release of the draft GAT User's Guide.
To give those attending the Edinburgh Application Developer's Workshop a head-start in the world of GAT application development, we've decided to release a draft version of the GAT User's Guide, allowing those attending and those simply interested in GAT application development to see the nuts and bolts of GAT application development. This draft version of the GAT User's Guide is available here.


25th June 2004 alpha release of GAT.
In our on-going drive to have those those attending the Edinburgh Application Developer's Workshop a head-start in the world of GAT application development, we've released an alpha version of the GAT, allowing all interested parties to see the GAT clockworks. 8th April 2004 alpha release of GAT.
Second in our hopefully long series of GAT releases... To give application developers a feel for the in's and out's of GAT we now release the second alpha version of the GAT toolkit. This latest alpha version is available through the link GAT alpha.


23th March 2004 alpha release of GAT.
Our first alpha release of GAT! Enjoy... In order to give application developers a sneek peek in on the future of grid computing, we've decided to make the work we've been slaving away on in the inner most sanctums of (Grid)Lab public early and public often. With no more fanfare we now release the first alpha version of the GAT toolkit. This first alpha version is available through the following link GAT alpha.
