XML and XML Schemas

Within the last few sections we've layed down the laws prescribing the mechanisms through which missives may flow to and from lovers separated by the cruel count of distance. However, we've been silent on the topic of the language used for these letters of love. Are they to be written in French, the ``language-of-love?'' Maybe they should be written in German, Finnish, Estonian, Hungarian, or something outre such as Powhatan[*]. What is to be done?

For the majority of the cases with which we will be concerned, the answer is XML. XML is ur-language of the internet, the proto-language of the world wide web, the web's Nostratic[*]. Let us examine in more detail this language of XML.
